- The village public toilets have received yet another accolade.This
time a National "Loo of the Year award" has given us a 4 star rating. Thanks to all the volunteers &
their dedication. No doubt we are all flushed with success.
- FOLLOWING MANY YEARS SERVICE ON THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL, CYRIL HARCUS HAS DECIDED THE TIME HAS COME TO RESIGN. WE ALL THANK CYRIL FOR HIS ENDEAVOURS,
INCLUDING FRONTING NUMEROUS VILLAGE PROJECTS. WE WISH HIM WELL & PLENTY OF HAPPY MOTORHOMING.
Some Boyndie residents are acquiring BT broadband telephony with the help of LEADER
Funding & the community council. 30 properties connected currently.
- New galvanised gates have
been fitted at Whitehills cemetery.
- Whitehills Primary School has benefited from the Windfarm Community Fund. New equipment will
provide two new school projects with new instruments to enhance musical provision. The new playground equipment will keep
pupils active during break & lunchtimes.
- A
community council project depicting a "Whitehills fishing boat with sail & anchor" has been completed in the
grassed area in fron of Red Well Court. Cyril Harcus & others have been instumental in the project.
- The "Turbine Walk" at the Boyndie Visitors Centre has been upgraded to its former
glory. It is an ever popular route.
- A
new heavy duty flagpole has been erected. This new 7 metre pole should give value for money for many years to come.
- Congratulations
to the Cutty Bar & Restaurant for becoming the first food business in the area to receive the Scottish National Eat
Safe Award for excellence in food hygiene & food safety management.
- "Whitehills Youth Group" goes from strength
to strength.
- The group have been ten pin bowling, trips to the cinema in Elgin plus
activities in the Public Hall. Adrianne now has official funding from the CC & was praised for her

"Whitehills Through the Years". This is a brand new publication by Stanley Bruce of the Banffshire Maritime & Heritage Association. it is
an illustrated history including Whitehills, Boyndie, Boyne & Ladysbridge. On sale locally at £6 per copy.
New steel galvanised planter boxes have been filled
& placed around the village. These should give value for money & last many years.
Whitehills community public toilet on Loch
Street has been upgraded . The
toilet flush system, wash basins & cubicle doors have been replaced & a baby changing unit installed.
RAF Banff Strike Wing DVD
is now on sale. See Community
Groups for further details. A trust has been created with the aim of developing the future management of the former RAF Banff. The Trust includes Whitehills Community Council.
Whitehills Community Council has produced a visitor information
leaflet of our lovely area.
